What Works? A qualitative exploration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander healing programs that respond to family violence
ANROWS (Australia’s National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety) is a leading national body focused on reducing violence against women and their children. ANROWS conducts research to inform policy and practice, contributing to the evidence base on prevention, intervention, and support services.
Rareland Studio collaborated with ANROWS to design the What Works report with a focus on accessibility and cultural sensitivity. This report, the second publication from the research project “An exploration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander healing programs that respond to domestic and family violence and sexual assault,” required a thoughtful approach. The report’s design reflects the importance of the research, which aimed to understand “what works” in healing programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, including LGBTQIASB+ individuals and those with disabilities.
The design also incorporated a bold and unique cover artwork, symbolising the strength and resilience of these communities.
