Yalinguth – A First Nations Immersive Audio Experience

Rareland Studio was tasked with designing the website, merchandise, and branding for Yaliguth, the Australian Good Design award-winning spatial awareness experience that uses sound-based augmented reality to connect people with the rich stories of Fitzroy, Naarm (Melbourne), as told by local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices. The project required a cohesive and culturally resonant visual identity that would enhance the immersive experience and resonate with diverse audiences.

Rareland’s design approach emphasised the cultural significance of Yaliguth, blending traditional elements with modern aesthetics to create an engaging and accessible website, serving as a gateway for users to explore the project. The merchandise and promotional materials, featuring thoughtfully designed logos and artwork, extends the brand’s reach, allowing participants to carry a piece of the experience with them.

Through careful design and branding, Rareland supported Yaliguth in its mission to connect people with Indigenous culture and history.

This project was made in collaboration with Storyscape.
